SMG software update

I think any BMW dealership should be able to do it.
Apparently if your car only changes down into 1st on its own when you stop, you have the newest update (if it changes down into first while you are moving, you have an older software version).
I think mine is the former. I had the SMG fluid changed a month ago, would they have updated the software then?Apparently if your car only changes down into 1st on its own when you stop, you have the newest update (if it changes down into first while you are moving, you have an older software version).
It might not be entirely relevant to you but here goes:
I've had a software update on my SSG (Non-M SMG) 325ci from an indy, only cost £70 IIRC
He said he updated the gearbox AND ENGINE software aswell, which i found surprising, maybe comes as a package?
But anywhoo noticable differences are, quicker 1st-2nd gear change, it doesnt jerk forward from 3rd-2nd under braking any more, and a general improvement on smoothness, haven't noticed any improvement engine wise, still same operation, consumption etc.
