Well I'm off to Barrow tomorrow, the plan being to drop onto Cardiff afterwards. There are only two slight issues: firstly, I hadn't realised Cardiff is 300 miles from Barrow and the second is that the boyos at St Athan have not so far confirmed that it's OK for me to go to the base on Tuesday. Actually that leads to a third issue: as I didn't know for definite on Friday whether I'd be in Cardiff or not, I haven't booked a hotel!

So I need to make a couple of phone calls in the morning to finalise things. Trouble is, I suspect it might be getting on by the time I get down to Cardiff; with the best will in the world 300 miles, on a Monday, on the A590/M6/M5 is not going to be a quick trip. If I can't get away from Barrow by about 2 it'll probably be past your bedtimes by the time I get down there

I can PM my mobile number if that's any use; although I can get onto PH from my Crackberry, experience tells me it's nigh-on impossible for me to post so once I leave here in the AM I'll be a bit incommunicado...
