Often when parked up somewhere I get compliment about the A6 from complete strangers, yesterday it was a couple of 15 year old lads, last week it was a 3 builder types in their 30's. I have never had this before with the everyday car even though the past ones have all bee pretty good cars.

Does anyone one else get these comments about their Audi?

I might change my mind about selling it!

Me too. People love the look of the 19s and S Line suspension.

Gives you a good feeling.

I parked up in Stroud a couple of months ago and there was a group of lads walking past on both sides of the road. One shouts to his mates across the road, " J*sus, look at the size of that f*cking Audi, sweet!!"

Had to chuckle.

The LWB A8 is massive! Is the standard A8 much wider than the A6? I have atest drive of an A8 next week (Parklands are being nice to me!, I think they want my money this time)

At first glance on the road, no but in reality bl**dy huge difference. You wait until you wash and polish. The LWB is nearly 3 foot longer than my A6 according to my drive! Much wider and seems to sit squatter on the road. Wider track and I think much better handling especially with the air suspension set on dynamic.

Is it the 4.2TDI you are testing?

I will be testing a 3.0tdi. They haves a used 4.2tdi but I dont like the colour combination

My worry is size when it comes to parking etc

Easy, parking sensors front & rear as standard, can get into amazingly small gaps.

I usually get *what the hell is it?* sort of comments.

Probably get more now, as I just took all the badges off it to keep them guessing, including the 4 rings on the boot lid smile

Now, if I can just get a stealth radiator grill for it wink
