Gervais is on lots of channels this week plugging his new movie (I say movie but it's just like The Office or Extras, people mocking RG, wrapped up with a different title) and I'm placing bets as to how long it takes him to say "Zeitgeist".

Tedious man.

he's become completely consumed by his own fame IMO. ive never found him funny or his work funny and to be honest dont really see the appeal of his work. but clearly lots of people here and in the USA are fond of him s each to their own I say!

They gave us Owen Wilson, Ben Stiller, Adam Sandler and Will Ferrell. We gave them Ricky Gervais, I think we still owe them.

The Invention of Lying is going to be huge. I read the script months ago and its very very good. Gervais can be a bit of a tt but he knows what he's doing. (also, the end to Ghost Town was a supeb example of how he can play a romantic lead better)

trust me....this thing is going to win some serious awards.

It got a pretty scathing review in today's Metro.

The movie seems to be getting good reviews, Ricky Gervais is one of our most talented comedians and I very much enjoy his work.

I understand that Edward Norton has a part where he plays a corrupt cop? In a world where people can only tell the truth (in the most brutal way possible)? How does one be a corrupt cop in such a world?

It's the reverse. No-one has the ability to lie... except Gervais.

Yes, I particularly enjoy his portrayal of David Brent in every role he's played since The Office wink

I am going to see it this evening. I quite like Ricky Gevais. Office is excellent and I like him in night at the museum. I have his books "Flanimals" which I love. I shall report back with my view.

The review in the latest Empire reckons it's one of the worst films ever made. I hope more people on here say the opposite as I really like the idea behind the story.

im the same as above i like the idea of the story, but think this film could of been done better with somebody else playing the role, no doubt gervais is talented, but think this is maybe one step too far
