Well the car is now sold for asking price, so they are worth what they are worth. Everyone who came to see the car fell in love, it was at the top of their budgets but when you factor in the costs of painting, 670HP engine and full spec and the fact it has done 500 odd miles since it was finished, it was hugely cheaper than building one. No one who actually saw the car commented that it wasn't worth the money and was over priced. Until you see a car and really go through the spec I don't see how you can easily compare something like an Ultima from the adverts and a registration date.
Age is a very not important on cars like ultimas, condition, spec, mileage is what matters. Don't forget there are cars out there where the kit was delivered 5 years ago and they are only just being registered, what age does that make it?

who says a 5 year old car is worth 30k, when you have probably spent 50+ on it. if there were none available secondhand for less than 45k then thats what buyers would have to pay if they wanted one.
i think our cars are massively undervalued selling at 25-30-35k.
The factory cars went for 55+. What made them better than a car that you or i built? Yes the factory do a very good job but so do a lot of 'self builders' out there.

thats interesting my car is a factory built car which i bought secondhand... I have the recepts for it and the original bill of sale of 89k not 55k....i think our cars are massively undervalued selling at 25-30-35k.

A car is only worth what someone is willing to pay. Some people like Ultimas don't want to wait to hit the track, they have 5-6 nice cars and it is worth it to them to pay a large premium to get what they want right away.
My car is not for sale and that is that. The car is a bargain at 225k. Where else can you get a car with such stunning good looks, is rarer than any Ferrari or Lamborghini and is faster than a Buggati Veyron.
My car is lightweight and everything that I could possibly want in a car. I will laugh at challenges from hopped up Ferrari's or Lambos This alone is worth the price. Imagine pulling away from a performance car costing hundreds of thousands more.
The cockpit is incredibly comfortable for me. I like the fact that only skinny girls will ride with me.
There is a premium to be paid to buy a factory roller but if your work demands a lot of your time than it is the way to go.
