Morning All,

It's my father's 70th birthday celebrations tomorrow. After an interminable wait to get news from a supplier on a present, said supplier had failed miserably, so I urgently need an alternative!

My father has a great fondness for Armagnac. Unfortunately, he hasn't passed this fondness on to me, so I have no idea where to buy a decent bottle!

I'm thinking a budget of around £100 or so. As close to Epsom/Woking/Sunbury/Guildford as possible, as I'm on restricted time to get it.

Can anyone recommend a decent specialist shop? I'm assuming this won't be in a run of the mill Threshers?

Have had stuff from Berry Bros & Rudd before

http://www.bbr.com/

Not the area you want but they do a next day delivery option I think... might be worth a natter with them and see what can be done.

If you are really stuck I am working in London today, maybe there is somewhere around that might have one?

Good call. I think my brother has done some consultancy work for these guys and they gave him a guided tour of their store in London. Pretty impressive premises by all accounts!

Apologies in advance but I just like using this site smile

Options

Looks like the first search result is best and the Fareham wine cellar seems to have a fair selection.

That's a proper old skool drink - kudos (and happy birthday) to your dad!

Believe it or not Makro in Reading have a very good selection if you know someone with a card.

Unfortunately I've moved out of the area so cannot help you I'm afraid.

Back again! I've been without internet connection for most of the day, waiting to get O2 broadband activated. cry

Well worth the wait though, as it's currently absolute peak time, and I'm getting 9Mb smile

Anyway, getting back to the booze, I found a place in Burpham which relieved me of a chunk of cash in return for a Marquis de Montesquiou 1963 Bas Armagnac.

He'd better bloody like it! hehe

Assume you have got something sorted now, but if not, this place could be open in the morning and has a top range.

They have a place on the South Bank by London Bridge station.

I used to use them all the time, very very good. They have some nice items in stock. Some overpriced to be fair. But still an impressive list.
