The world and his wife want to work for national level teams for free so unless you've got something a bit extra to give a team you'd probably be better off starting with lower level teams.
Why not turn up to your local track for a club day (actually that's probably a bit tricky as it's probably Donington?) and wander around the paddock, talk to people and offer to help out. The one man and his dog racers would probably appreciate a hand. Try Silverstone next Saturday for our MSVR meeting for a start.
Without wishing to plug other forums, have a post on the Racers forum on ten-tenths and see if you can drum up any racers who will give you a chance to go along, watch and learn.
