Ex-Employer, Statement of Earnings (Anyone in payroll?)
Discussion
Hi all, trying to get my tax refund sorted still. Looking to pick some brains if possible.
One of my ex-employers, CityLink, for whom i worked in 2007 (2007/08 tax year) have some how ballsed my records up, and have me leaving in July 2008, falling in a different tax year. Obviously this is no real problem, but, they are trying to charge me £11.50 for a statement of earnings. They say they send a P45 out at the time, but i never received anything. Can they legally bum-rape me like this?

Can you not get the figures from elsewhere? Do you have your 2007/2008 P60? Do you have your payslips April - July 08?
Where did you work after you left Citylink, did you give your P45 to the new employer, do you have your 2008/2009 P60? This would show earnings from previous employment.
Your ex employers are taking the mickey charging £11.50, it would take them about 5 mins to print it for you, but I suppose if you really need the figures you are going to have to pay it.

Did you keep your wages payslips?Ben - Its been 4 months so far, will call them tomorrow and probably suck it up, its only £11.50, but its my £11.50

Unfortunately, if you gotb rid of your own records, you will probably have to bite the bullet and pay the amount they want.
