In case anyone's thirsty...the Chequers has a beer festival this weekend.

Hog roast tonight and jazz on Sunday evening.

I'll be popping by sometime tomorrow, IIRC Bob's got 7-8 of his own beers, and some other "interesting" choices, should be good! drink

I stopped by for a little while yesterday afternoon, very nice selection of beers, 7 SOS's were on including the excellent Muckcart Mild and a very potent Raspberry Wheat beer at 5.6% ABV (altho' some said Bob the landlord/brewer thought it was closer to 6.0%!) very sweet and full of Raspberry flavours, very nice for continental beer fans i'd imagine
Best beer for me was the Dark Star Oktoberfest a rich and moreish beer, an excellent autumn evening tipple drink
All the Real Ales were served in top nick as expected, big thumbup to Bob & co for laying it on!

Sounded good there James. It should have been a good reason to put my bike back together I suppose. Still I did get my usual headache on Friday with half a bottle of wine and a bottle of Wells Banana bread beer on Friday night. rolleyes

One of the very best pubs in the county is the Chequers Colin, well worth a trip over to sample the house beers and admire the originality of the pub itself, fantastic little place!

Heres a link to keep handy BTW smile - http://www.huntscamra.org.uk/pubs/pubguide.asp

Cheers for that James. Always good to know the good venues in the area.
