Engine/gearbox corrosion protection - any ideas?

Evening all,

Does anyone know what the waxy type coating is that is applied from the factory to engines and gearboxes as corrosion protection, obviously it must have heat resistant properties but at the moment I'm struggling to come up with anything, so over to the PH massive...
