Getting a vending machine?

I want to get a vending machine in our office (I have no power so will only be making a suggestion to managers)

They will NOT pay large (if any amounts) of money to have one palced there.

Does anyone know how the contracts work?

Do the companies place the vending machine for free and make money back via sales? Or do they charge you a massive amount for the machine and then also make money from the sales?

We would be happy to pay slightly higher prices for the products but our managers will not pay huge fees to have one put in.

Any ideas?

Pretty sure the ones I've had before have been supplied by the vending machine companies and they kept all the profits and serviced them weekly, carried out repairs.

I organsied a vendin machine for a company I used to work at. It was a Coke drinks machine and it had a choice of different drinks (your choice from their selection). The machine was free as long as it was:

• Covered up and protected from the elements.
• The business had over 30 employees

They gave you a number to ring when you needed it refilling urgently or they came once a week. This was about three years ago so it may have changed, but at the time it was free as long as you met the criteria.

ISTR that Costco sell vending machines which you can restock yourself.

The ones we have are supplied, stocked etc etc buy a company. They are actually meant to give us commission from the sales but instead supply us with two water coolers and all the water we need FOC

so its possible to get an actual vending machine delivered and installed for free as long as all profits from it go to the company? we dont mind - as long as the prices are not crazy like £1 for a chocolate bar

we have about 70 people in the building, but i dont see it doing MASSIVE business.

Well i do, we had around 100 people but are now down to 75 and i presume he makes a profit. We have 2, i can machine at £.60 and a food vender with 10-15 different chocolate type bars and 10 or so different bag of crisps etc at between £.45 and £.50. Its also in a really dirty dusty environment so i expect his maintenance costs are higher than normal too.

Will do next week, doubt he will cover your area as i think he is just a small local business, our site is based in Scu*nthorpe but may be worth a try.

This is who the company I worked for used.

We have several in our canteen,
Two CCSB ones are owned and stocked by Coke, the company get a small fee- something like 20% of the sales back.
Another is a Mars Confectionary machine, a free machine, and stocked on site and we get all the takings- limited to Mars chocs, and three rows for crisps or other snacks- not tied to brand.

We had another option of getting a free vending machine stocked by outside company, but we saw no money back at all.
Just do a search for 'free vending machines' it brought up loads of companies that supplied a service for me

I used to be heavily involved in vending and yes with 70 people on site then you should be able to get a free service from someone who will do drinks, salty snacks and sweets.

There will be a relationship between vend price, sales and rebate but unless the machines are used to excess then you won't get rich on the proceeds.... reality is they are unlikely to cover the electricity!!

infact the ideal scenario is that its totally seld funded and our organisation has no financial involvement at all - i.e it runs itself
