E39 540 Exhaust

Bought myself a 540 manual as a weekend toy.

Would love a little more noise from exhaust, can anyone recommend one?

not sure, but it's worth a look (my E60 had one)

Check that the flap closing one half of the exhaust is opening.

They usually seize up and don't open when the car is warmed up and being booted.

They are vac operated and you should be able to safely leave it open and plug the vac line with a screw or similar

Don't think the e39 540 has the flap - it's a single exit iirc.

A decent backbox would really open it up - something like an Eisenmann, ACS/Remus or Supersprint should sound brilliant.

I went to Torqueflow when I needed a back box for my E34 540.

Really nice guys and well priced. Type torqueflow into youtube and have a listen.....preferably with earphones in.
