A guy on the CCCUK forum has his C5 wrapped in matt black
and he just washes it with a sponge & warm water, dries it
and leaves it, "simples"

I have two 'real' matt black cars, not wrapped. Just hose down and then wash with a shampoo without shining agents. I tend to use the Meguir's purple stuff when I can be bothered to wash them.
