Is the problem 100amp fuse?

Having just spent a few hours at the road side, while Mr RAC tried to fix my problem, then on the back of a truck, I am wondering if the problem is the 100amp fuse on my Tam. The symptoms:
Car was unusually parked outside (at a mates overnight), when I started it, it didnt turn over as normal, sounded like the battery was struggling. Drove for a few miles, miss-fired a couple of times, then the dash dials and display starting doing some strange things and when I put my foot down it seemed to struggle to pick up. Then stopped at some lights and everything stopped, tried starting and just had a ticking sound, which I assume was the starter motor not having enough power. Battery was showing at just over 10v. Mr RAC got it going on a booster but determined the battery wasnt charging.
So can anyone confirm if this sounds like the symptoms of the 100amp fuse blowing? Ironically the car is due to go for a service on Tues, so I am sure Castle will be able to resolve, but I would like to know.

It does sound like it. Should be a 10 minute job for the AA Man to fix with just a few spanners. Have him remove the airbox and you can see the fuse next to the coilpack. Don't touch the fuse and the engine block at the same time with a spanner (tttzzzzhhh).
Worth doing the 120amp upgrade maybe? Had mine done at the service only cost me the price of the fuse which was about £3 as the airbox was off and the fuse is checked on the service.Shep

Be interested to know if AA managed it in 10 minutes, particularly if it has AC!OP - it could be the fuse but I had a similar problem earlier this year and it was a faulty alternator.
Make sure they put in an upgraded fuse at the service i.e. not the same as the original 'floppy' version. The 120/130A with rigid connectors and the fuse section in a plastic central box - not very good description - someone may know the technical name - and then you should have no further problem
Good effort if you can do it in 10mins, especially if the engine's hot when you do it! I did mine a few times before upgrading to a 120 and never got it done under 45 mins. I blame wide forearms when trying to get to that pesky hidden clip.
I too have experienced the death of an alternator (on the move) but this is a slower death than the fuse, when the fuse goes it tends to happen quite quickly.
I'd definitely recommend upgrading the fuse, not looked at mine again for a couple of years.

Was planning to get the Tam picked up on a truck by the RAC today, and get it over to castle. I have a problem though:
I plugged the car into the Accumate over night, but there is still not enough power/another problem that is preventing me from closing the windows. Not a problem whilst in my garage at home, but its peeing down here and I dont really want to get it soaked whilst travelling for an hour or so to Castle. I do have a cover that I could put on, which covers just the front & back screen, but they are clearly not designed to be on the car whilst moving!! So, if any bright spark has any tips on how to get the windows up, otherwise I will have to wait for a fine day before getting it transported!

Good to know its not just me then, hadn't realised that the AA employed super-techs these days. Certainly when my fuse went it was sudden, mid overtake as it happened with much waving of fingers and horn blowing as I forced my way back to my side of the road.I too have experienced the death of an alternator (on the move) but this is a slower death than the fuse, when the fuse goes it tends to happen quite quickly.

This wont solve your problem now but you might ask your garage to move the fuse to the engine bay, done mine also the anderson plug.I plugged the car into the Accumate over night, but there is still not enough power/another problem that is preventing me from closing the windows.
