I have just been asked if my car was restricted, I had to reply "I don't think so" but unsure, they are adament that all cars that come into this country have to be limited to 156mph....any comments.

Isn't the 155mph limiter a German thing? AFAIK cars are not retricted due to British laws/rules, a friend of mine has an Aston V8 Vantage and that's certainly not been restricted tongue out

The 155mph limit was an agreement between the German manufactures to keep the Greenpeace brigade happy (how times have changed if 155mph kept them happy back in the day) by reducing emissions, and also stopping accidents caused by people not keeping a check on their tyre pressures. The other luxury car manufactures followed like Jaguar and it went from there, but generally sports cars wont have it, like Porsche, Aston etc. Quite often if you pay the manufacturer they'll remove it for you like the BMW M5 and I read Audi will remove it off the TT RS for £1200 redface
