Tomorrow - Nurburgring + Porsche 997 GT3's - the real deal.
Discussion
Reading the excellent threads organising some final races for FM2, I've noticed that many are over-subscribed and hence thought I'd post this to see if there is any interest.
So, why is this race the real deal?? Well, this could be a tough one...
Track: Nurburgring
Cars: Porsche 997 GT3 (standard - no tuning – we shall all be equals)
Time: 9pm
Laps: 6 (should be about a 50 mins race)
Assists: ABS and traction if required
Tyres/fuel: Simulation
Damage: Simulation
Could you even concentrate for 6 laps of the 'ring without stacking it?
When will you pit for tyres and fuel? Will you even need to? Who knows...
Will you really drive at ‘100% full-attack’ mode, knowing that one clipped curb or wide exit will result in an impact that could really count?
Will you still be ‘wagging the tail’ out of hairpins, knowing that your tyres are going to suffer, or will it be neat-and-tidy all the way?
Maybe you will drive at 90%, let the leaders pull away and then take them on Lap 5 when they are down on power; the tell-tale wisp of smoke from the exhausts confirming a collision took place or their tyres are shot and they are desperately limping back to the pits for fresh rubber?
Will you lunge for that brave overtake and risk it all, or hang back and make yourself presence felt by applying some pressure, hoping to force the car in front into an error of judgement?
Will you be able to hold your nerve when out in front, trying to concentrate on what corner is next whilst the chasing pack fill your mirrors?
This could be a very different type of race and the ‘quick-sprint’ driver may not win.
So, what say you? Worth a go?

Yeah, 16 cars in 2 differernt classes would be fantstic!
Not sure how many want to race, so I thought I'd set this up as a reserve in case we have 16 players online. Not sure though if an endurance race at the 'ring with simulation damage is a bit amitious and we'll all end up in a pile of broken cars at the first corner
. Is your racing full simulation?
If there's not enough for the Porsche race, I'll be online as a standby anyway for your lobby if required. GT: Matt UK 76
S'all good

I've now got some work-stuff on that's going to keep away on the wrong side of London for a while..
Might be back by 9pm-ish, but might be later, so I won't be around to set up a lobby.
If people are racing I'll see if I can join. If not maybe we'll go for this one abother evening.
Cheers,
Matt
