Is the link that both the M600 and the Perana Z-one look quite old fashioned!!!???

I must say that the M600 looked better in the flesh when I saw it at Goodwood, but it hasn't got the sparkle of the new McClaren

The only (tenious) link is that Nobles used to be made by Jimmy and the M600 isn't, but the Z-One is.

My Russian's not what it used to be but roughly translated...

How quickly time flies! Judging by the reaction of automotive community on the first official information about a new British sports car Noble M600, on the brand almost forgotten. This observation seems equally true both in relation to the statements of commentators and experts, and the comments ordinary motorists.

And the right to such forgetfulness was characteristic only of our Russia motorists. The same thing happened in Europe - and in the United Kingdom in particular.

But just at the beginning of the decade, famous British automotive publishing model be awarded with Noble M12's most prestigious award. Twice this sports car was awarded the honorary title of Best Driver's Car of The Year.

In Moscow, an official partner successfully worked Noble Automotive - Company Sportmobil ", which actively promoted the British brand in Russia market. And in 2004, our most professional journalists told about Noble M12 with notes of admiration. Although without comment, of course, could not have done.

But today, even magazine Top Gear reacted to prospects of the new Noble M600 almost skeptical.

To freshen up a little short human memory, will need to make a small digression into the past.

Start standing with the fact that the company Noble Moy Automotive (later simply - Noble Automotive) was even founded relatively recently - only in 1999.

The constructor of racing and sports car Lee Noble (Lee Noble), almost twenty years working for hire, decided it was time to start their own business. The portfolio of the British at that time could find a lot of very interesting works. For example, is enough to mention chassis supercar McLaren F1 (the fastest car from 1994 to 2005) and sports prototype Ultima (this project is developed to the present).

Noble decided to support the finances experienced businessman Tony My (Tony Moy).

It is interesting that Russia's firm Sportmobil ", which later became a dealer Noble Automotive, was formed in the same 1999. However, in the beginning of its activities, Muscovites have specialized in the sale and servicing of Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution. And even developed their own version of this car - SX500 (Sportmobil Xtreme 500).

The first model marks Noble was released only in the number of copies of eleven under the symbol M10.

But the above-mentioned vehicle Noble M12 has already sold two hundred pieces a year. This sports car, having a central transverse-mounted engine, carrying space frame of welded steel pipes, plus fiberglass exterior body panels are manufactured in three versions - GTO, GTO 3 and GTO 3R. The first version was equipped with a modified engine Ford Duratec V6, the volume of 2.5 liters. Two others - already three-liter engine Ford. All engines are supplied with a pair of Garrett turbochargers and develop power 310 hp, 344 hp and 365 hp respectively. With further modernization model received a new designation M400 and engine 431 hp In this variant of the specific capacity of the car reaching a value of 411 hp ton.

Naturally, the Noble M12 sports car had a suspension double wishbone unequal length.

The bottom of the car was covered with metal shields, and so it was completely flat.

Thanks to its design, technical parameters, and adjust the chassis (mostly) all modifications Noble M12 combined in a racing behavior on the track with a high (and not merely an acceptable) level of comfort on public roads.

An interesting fact is that the production of body and space frame cars Noble M12 were not managed in the UK, and South Africa, in the town of Port Elizabeth (Port Elizabeth), an enterprise under the high-sounding title Hi-Tech Automotive, created by Jimmy Price's (Jimmy Price). There they assembled and supplied with pendants. Only then complete the body were sent to Britain, where equipped with powertrains.

The main thing is that the quality of this machine does not suffer, because the backbone of Hi-Tech Automotive are professionals - engineers and mechanics who worked previously in the most famous racing teams. They even jokingly call themselves the Skunk Works - also called the Department of promising developments aerospace company Lockheed-Martin.

In addition to the units of cars Noble Company Hi-Tech Automotive manufactures replicas of Ford's legendary sports cars: GT40, Cobra, Daytona - and sells them worldwide through its dealer network, using the brand Superformance.

And this year the same company, but under the name Perana Performance Group, began production of its own modern supercar Perana Z-One.

As far as the Noble Lie, it has always been a designer, and only then - the entrepreneur. And so we constantly strove to improve its products. Not escaped this fate and Model 12.

It all started with a banal desire to optimize the distribution of mass along the sides of the machine by replacing the transverse location of the power unit on the longitudinal. But this required to design a new power frame of the car.

At the same time came the realization of the new requirements of buyers of old: they needed traction control, airbags, climate control, navigation system and the like.

And then concern Ford started updating its line of motors. All tallied one to one - to the car the next generation, to create that need the money.

So in 2007 Lee sold the business to its U.S. dealers - the company 1G Racing. It was easy, since the new owner makes your car Rossion Q1 - former Noble M12 (M400), pretty redesigned "skunks" Jimmy Price, all on the same South African base.

But, "to feed" for some time the media - information, and customers - promises about the projects M14 and M15, the company Noble suddenly stopped.

Only in October last year in Arizona have been "Exposed" prototypes of the new car Noble M600, passing it a road test.

Simultaneously, the media leaked information about the one that the company Noble Automotive left its founder - designer Lee Noble, a new leader was Boutvud Peter (Peter Boutwood).

I managed it myself Noble to take any part in the development of the new M600? On this question of direct and accurate answer does not exist.

However, released in August this year, the first detailed official release on the new car, about Lee Noble is not a word.

Only Noble M600 silence shows everything. After all, Just one glance at the sports car that, despite the brand-new units and components, to understand that the car used by the whole vast, accumulated over years of practice experience of a talented British engineer and designer, if not directly, then indirectly - through colleagues and students.

Lee Noble is always contemptuous attitude toward issues of public relation. Therefore, the general public and managed to forget about his talent, just two years.

But he had to design a specific approach - design, rather than artistic and aesthetic. The headlights must shine, and the blinkers and brake lights - to inform the surrounding drivers. Air intakes are needed to guide the necessary amount of air to radiators and cooling system to cool the brakes. The form of the body should be fairly streamlined, but at the same time provide the necessary downforce. Etc. i.t.p.

That's why all the same "general public" and assimilated new car so ambiguous - more negatively than positively. After all, Noble M600, despite an increase in the size, looks exactly the same as all previous cars Noble - completely functional and a bit brutal.

And another factor is probably the most important: Noble have always believed that the driver while driving the car manages (mostly), and not listening to music, talking on the phone, send sms-messages, etc. - And not just manage, but does so with gusto. "I do not want to burden their sports cars with electronics and all the modern technologies that make it easy driving, but do not allow them to enjoy the full. My goal - to enable the driver to take the greatest possible participation in the management of the car, so that it can feel like a real driver, but it did not feel any discomfort, "- once said Lee.

Perhaps such an approach would require someone to dislike. But the fact of the matter is that Noble makes their cars are not for everyone but for those same drivers, fans of track days, which the company is, of course, know well, because talking to them almost daily. Sam Lee Noble is the same. And his entire team, too.

In these contacts is the whole marketing company Noble Automotive. In the West, this approach somehow dubbed radical, but perhaps more correctly be called his "personal". And is it not true, when planning to sell at fifty cars in a year?

Based on the above-described approach to business and has developed the latest model of the British company - Noble M600. But this car has grown as a model of M12, and M14 intermediate projects and M15 (they "died", not yet having come into being), and moved from class sports cars in the supercar league.

Novelty, as usual, has a steel frame and carbon fiber cladding.

Engine - new to Noble. This eight-engine Yamaha, having a volume of 4.4 liters. In the basic version of such an engine installed on the Volvo XC90. Traditionally, partners Noble (American engineers and a British firm Motorkraft AER) have provided the engine with two turbochargers Garrett, thanks to which its capacity increased to 650 hp At this time, British engineers have cost a modification of the power unit instead of three, as was the M12. Instead, a control unit engine Motec: now by turning the switch in the cabin car can change the output ceiling by choosing one of three options: 450, 550 or 650 hp When the equipped vehicle weight 1275 kg obtained specific capacity 510 hp ton. Maximum torque, which develops motor M600, is equal to 820 Nm.

British honestly have tested all types of gear boxes and came to the conclusion that the best six "mechanics" nothing. However, engineers from Noble Automotive no other outcome is not expected.

Only this time they chose not to Gearbox Getrag Ford Focus ST170, as before, and a box of Italian firm Graziano. First, on the one hand, does not withstand the increased load, on the other - it slightly lacked the desired precision gear. Italian transmission is just that and is famous for - clarity, combined with short gearshift lever moves.

If skill transfer switch, the Noble M600 can disperse up to 100 km / h in just three seconds, and six and a half seconds, the car pick up is 160 km / hr. Maximum speed of the new British supercar - 360 km / hr. Fighter!

He and traction control off in exactly the same tumbler how to run Tornado missiles. But apart Traction control other electronic systems in the transmission Noble is not provided. ABS has no. Faithfulness to the concept.

And the suspension, front and rear, all the same - everywhere in the double wishbone unequal length, plus adjustable dampers.

Weight distribution in Noble M600 - absolutely sports: 40% of weight machines have a front axle, 60% - on the back. This is just what you need for a car that has a layout with a central engine and rear drive wheels.

The creators of a new car Noble argue that it behaves much like the legendary McLaren F1 and Ferrari F40. This comparison, they emphasize the "analog", not "digital" behavior of the machine.

Step back? And why not? Position in step behind the competition (in some sense) has always been part of the strategy marks Noble.

«Predictable, communicative, precise - a predictable, communicative and precise" - lists the quality of supercar M600 new boss Noble Automotive, repeats like a mantra. "Communicative", obviously, can be understood more as a "friendly".

And the British publication Autocar journalist Steve Sutcliffe (Steve Sutcliffe), it seems the only "outsider" to date, which had the good fortune to try Noble M600 on the road, backed up these words - he was jaded observer, remained enthusiastic about the car.

Will the British firm to carry out its business objectives - to sell for fifty cars each year at the price of two hundred thousand pounds sterling (about 330 000 dollars) for the car? Why not. Seventy potential customers it already has. These are customers who have made a prepayment for M14 and M15, but they never got.

There is another interesting question: Does the company take advantage of Noble Automotive Services, its South African partner, the company Hi-Tech Automotive, at this time?

A year ago, Peter Boutvud said that his company has not decided on the place of manufacture Noble M600, but it tends to produce the car in the UK, if at all possible. However, logic dictates that the British should not refuse to help Jimmy Price.

And what about Russia's partner, Noble - Company Sportmobil "? Its phones are silent. By place of their former residence could not be found. Both can produce a rather half-dead, half alive than impressed. In a letter left on their resources, no one answered. Pity. In this company work and create decent, loving your own business professionals. Perhaps they will be reborn with a new model of Noble M600?!

And there and McLaren MP4-12C on the approach. These two cars perfectly complement each other. They are so similar, and yet completely different.

Or something like that hehe

Not too sure about the M600 price tag, the styling is very conservative for a hyper car,but on the other hand it looks very useable and sustaianable, is this an everyday hypercar!!!

Do i care it has carbon fibre shell? Yes if it makes the car cost 200k,you have to compare price versus what you are getting, an M15 with a new shell and a bigger engine and superior transmission, for a mere snip of an extra 130k, hmmm.. not true Lee Noble style, i think another chef was spoiling the broth.

I bet you Lee will do a version same power, same engine with GRP shell, but better looking and under 100k, autocar said he is working on a mule that will retail for 70k, what chance does the M600 stand against a car like this, or the italia 458 or the New Mclaren which i have heard will be circa 150k.

No doubt this car will get in the top 5 on the TG power lap board will blow the socks off the Top Gear presenters with performance and will be disciplined enough for everyday use, quite a combination!!! but what is Jeremy's closing comments going to be about the price tag? He is simply going to say "for that money you could buy one of these instead"

Sorry Noble but for 120k you had a winner, for 200k it needs to look more exotically styled, nobody is going to track this car, or only on occasion, the people who really race are going to spend 20K upgrading a GTO3R to racing spec or buy a 720bhp Ultima, so this market has gone completely, you have to know your market, if you meet the people that have the money to buy this car, image is first, performance comes second, at 200k it is a status symbol, and these potential customers will buy an italia 458 instead or the Mclaren for less money.
I was talking to a very rich friend the other day who was looking a for a new toy, i told him about the M600, he said for that money i would buy an LP640 because he would look better pulling up outside exclusive bars and restaurants, he didn't give a damn it was 1/2 second faster to 100, these are your new customers Mr Boutwood, know your customer and create a car around them.
Only petrol heads give a damn about the extra 1/2 second, i hope the M600 does well, please don't get me wrong, but 90% of petrol heads are not your customers anymore.

I have a modded GTO3R, pulls the same BHP/ton as the M600 and i have re done the interior like a DB9, double stitched leather and i truly believe the M12 styling is unique and more agressive looking than the M600 especially when you carry out some aero mods to the rear clam like i have done and it costs me nothing to maintain and still turns heads.

Modified, it actually says Noble instead of Rossion, the yellow did not match the car, lol, i have removed it since i have my insider aty Noble trying to get me some of the Chrome badghes with 2 'N's back to back , you know the one that looks abit like the Maserati crown, like i say i am a bit of a fanatic, i even changed the interior light.

http://i291.photobucket.com/albums/ll296/da_urb/SA...

I have changed all the instrument cluster, and clad in double stitched leather, in fact it is probably one of the modified Nobles around, i would love to see pics of what other people have done, but i think i will start a new thread.
