Squeeky roof - ideas to sort??

I fitted some new seals to the rear bit of my roof (about a metre of black u-shaped rubber from Racing Green) and now my roof is squeeking really badly - driving me nuts.
Any ideas how to sort - was considering a spray of silicon but thought rain would wash it away - plus I'm bound to wipe the silicon overmyself when I next take the roof off.
Does everyones roof do this? Any ingenious solutions?

I spray electrical silicon on all the rubber parts where my roof fits, this keeps the squeaks away. lasts a few months at a time, but will depend on how many times it gets wet, you wash the car etc.
Can't think of another way to prevent this, unless the seals were changed to a different material.

On my car the squeak comes from the front facing edge of the rear seal on the roof panel rubbing against the rear facing seal on the roll over bar. I have a can of silicon spray which I spray onto a cloth and apply to both seals. This seems to work but not for more than a couple of weeks. I think the problem is more that it wears away than is washed off since the contact point should never really get too wet.
Rear window squeak seems less of a problem but that tape does look generally handy! Might be useful on the edges of the roll over hoop where the roof fixing tends to cause the odd chip when going on (no matter how careful one is!!).

I have some of the tape and was also thinkng of putting some where the roof chips the paint - I think you can buy pre cut kits as well - might be £££ though!

I have velcro on the top edge of the window which stops any squeaks, may be worth a try! It will certainly last longer than silicone spray. I use the helicopter tape on the edges of the rollover tape to stop chips when putting the roof on, works a treat!
Ditto that on the velcro option and that was after using silicone with inconsistent and short term results only. However, saying that, even the velcro option starts to loose effectiveness after 18 months or so - the thread I have attached to the top part of my screen has shrunk to a small degree after lots of screen ins-and-outs so it tends to be a looser fit than was the case. More velcro needed methinks...
