Battery compartment corrosion

I have had a leaking battery, which has corroded the ally baseplate and appears to have started some corrosion on the chassis around the battery. I am sourcing a new plate and battery, but am looking for some advice on what to do to get the chassis area back to pristine. Have posted a couple of pics to get views / recommendations.

Is that it i was expecting rotting chassis etc
Sand down and a coat of smooth hammerite your battery covers most of it.

SP6 Animal - well it's bad to me ( 2005 dryish only T350) . The bubbling has deffo got worse in the last three months, so I wasn't sure how far under the powder coating the corrosion would have got, so wasn't sure if the sand and quick touch up job would suffice.

Top Tip put a peice of wood on your jack plate next time.

SP6 An - I a couple of circular cut outs pieces of rubber sheet to go around the bolt on the jacking point and also have rubber linings on the axle stands, so hopefully no worries there!

Any advances on touch up with hammerite?

I was thinking rub down - rust converter to be sure - zinc based primer then try to get an aerosol made up in the chassis colour?
