So a wear and tear part wears and tears with 55k (25 and 30) miles? Did your caps lock key wear and tear?

I read as 25k showing last year, 30k showing this year, so only an extra 5k?

Either way, ball joints are a common wear and tear item on 360s. In fact, I struggle to think of anything on a 5Y+ old car than any warranty company would actually pay out for.

Hope it didn't cost you too much.

When they sue you, that will be even more wear and tear to your bank balance.

Claims have to be worded correctly, I have managed to get payment for various things including a clutch from a warranty company in the past.

JUST TO LET YOU ALL KNOW AFTER PURCHASING MY 360 FROM MIDLAND SPORTS CARS, I DECIDED TO TAKE OUT A WARRANTY AFTER MIDLANDS 6 MONTH WARRENTY HAD EXPIRED.AFTER A NUMBER OF PHONE CALLS I DECIDED TO BUY A 2 YEAR PLATINUM EXEC FROM MOTORPLAN WHICH IS ADMINISTERED BY TWG SERVICES LTD.
ALTHOUGH I HAVE ONLY NEEDED TO CONTACT THEM TWICE,ON BOTH OCCASIONS THEY HAVE INFORMED ME THAT IS WAS WEAR AND TEAR ON A CAR WHICH HAD COVERED 25K LAST YEAR AND THEN 30K THIS YEAR.
APPARENTLY I WAS INFORMED BY MOTORPLAN THAT, IF I HAD CONTINUED TO USE/DRIVE THE CAR AND THE N/S BALL JOINT/ARM HAD FAILED COMPLETLY (LAST YEAR) THEY WOULD PAY OUT BUT,I WAS REQUIRED TO TAKE THE RISK OF HAVING AN ACCCIDENT AND DAMAGE THE CAR AND POSSIBLY INJURE MYSELF BEFORE THEY WOULD PAY OUT!
AGAIN LAST WEEK I HAD THE CAR IN MIDLAND/HOLLINGWORTH'S AND THIS TIME THE KNOCK WAS FROM THE O/S.AGAIN I CONTACTED MOTORPLAN,THEY SENT OUT AN ENGINEER,HE AGREED THAT THE DROP LINK AND T/ROD HAD FAILED BUT, AGAIN MOTORPLAN USED THE SMALL PRINT OF WEAR AND TEAR AND INFORMED ME (AS LAST YEAR) THEY WOULD ONLY PAY OUT IF THE PART FAILED WHILE DRIVING THE CAR!
I HAVE BEEN INFORMED BY MIDLAND THAT IN THE PAST 4 YEARS ONLY 2 CARS HAVE BEEN (PARTLY) PAID FOR WORK CARRIED OUT YET, MANY OTHERS HAVE CLAIMED FOR GENUINE FAULTS/FAILURE'S BUT,EACH TIME THE WARRANTY COMPANY WILL SAY SORRY WEAR AND TEAR.

SO BEWARE, SAVE YOUR MONEY AND USE IT FOR ANY REPAIRS AS YOU CAN SPEND THOUSAND'S ON THE BEST WARRANTY MONEY CAN BUY AND IT'S WORTHLESS.UNFORTUNTLY I FOUND OUT TOO LATE BUT, AFTER TALKING WITH OTHER MEMBERS I AM NOT ALONE.
Warranties do not cover wear and tear generally. It is not designed to be a maintenance plan. The warranties that do cover wear and tear, only cover the part if it has failed prematurely. I.e. if you have al ower control arm on a GT3 which has never been replaced then its not covered. If you replaced it in the last 2 years and it has failed again (2 years being the parts warranty from Porsche) then they should replace. I do hate insurance companies in general, but if your balljoint/arm failed after having never been replaced I would not expect them to pay.

Of course, if they tried to say that your engine failed because of wear and tear to one of the big end bearings or whatever then I would take it as far as necessary to get it covered.

There is a fine balance with these things, but the fact that an insurance company is there to make as much money as possible and therefore needs to pay out as little as possible means it is a conflict of interest situation to say the least.
