Was in an electronics shop the other day with no intention to buy anything but ended up getting the above camera at a very good price.
Got home set it all up etc... Now this is the thing, when viewing photos, movies or using the lcd as a screen I have noticed it has a dead pixel. What would you do? It does not affect the performance of the camera in any way but everytime I switch it on my attention is drawn to this pixel!

I don't think they will take it back. I got a HP 24" monitor thingy and they said there had to be a certain amount (can't remember the exact number) of dead pixels before they would consider replacing it.

No reason as to why it would affect performance though, although it is annoying.

See if there's anything in the small print/warranty - you could always take it back and ask if they will swap it and maybe catch them in a helpful mood.

ETA: The 'very good price' bit and the dead pixel makes me wonder if it was a return from somewhere else that had been refurbished and sold on...?

Assuming you have all original packaging and you bought it only a few days ago you can take it back, fault or not, for a full refund as stated in the Sale of Goods act. (if my memory serves me right, you might want to read it to check the details before shouting at the manager hehe)
