Folding Roof HELP NEEDED

I have emailed Roger Morris of the Chim/Griff folding roof and he would like to investigate manufacturing one for the S Series but needs a sample to work from

Can anyone lend him one, damaged would do.

If you can help let me know and I will be happy to organise

Where is he based Norman?

Perhaps one of the regulars here that is in the middle of a body off / full rebuild etc or someone who takes their car off the road for winter might be able to help?

Would just sending the roof to him be any use? with it being 2 parts it would be hard to get the actual shape, where as the Chim/Griff would be just one piece roof.

I think his folding roof uses a solid piece front and back to join to the windscreen and rear hoop.

My S3 is off the road at the moment (long project) I live near Swansea and work down West Wales. I have a spare hoop section in my Garage (with fabric on) and my two roof sections in storage in Bridgend. Willing to help if someone can organise.Can take roof down to South West Wales not sure where this Guy is though.Unable to put up funds for carriage if this guy lives outside the Haverfordwest,Fishguard or Pembroke areas (The end of the railroad,I work for NotWorkFail)

Would like to keep the spare hoop for the time being, I purchased the car in bits so not sure which is the good targa at the moment (got other things to complete, engine,suspension,electrics, brakes the list is endless)Both hoops look pretty good though.I would like keep for the time being for obvious reasons.Will let you know in the summer if you are still interested.

Just a quick note guys

The roof template (my spare roof) is off to Lampeter tommorrow to get things going on this folding roof design.The guy who plans to manufacture the roof is picking it up from my house in the morning. Lets hope I get it back because i've seen the targa alone on Flea Bay for £270, daylight robbery if you ask me.
The guy who's picking it up is called Roger, lets hope his surname's not Dodger!
Norman asures me he is genuine,so I guess watch this space.........

Are all S roof panels the same size / shape / profile?

I'm sure I remember earlier / later roof panels varying in length?

Roger turned up this morning, as previous threads metioned very nice guy.Roof is now in Lampeter so unable to measure mine Norman.

Yeah,

Phoned Roger last Sat, he now has a prototype which he has trial fitted all ok as far as i can gather he just has to make a roof lining for it and we will be away.
