Anyone here get payed to take surveys?

Just a quick question really, I'm thinking of doing this to earn a few extra quid. Can anyone recommend a few decent sites where I can do this without getting spammed to death?
I've heard yougov is quite good but it looks like it can take a while to accumulate points...

I'm on Yougov - it's been very slow this year and haven't seen many polls.

You can cash out when you reach £50, most surveys are 50p a shot or prize draw.

Used to do it when was off work for six months with multiple breaks to leg.

Slow to pay, reward didn't match effort in most cases, and the spamming was rediculous.

In a word: avoid!

I'm with OnePoll, which has started to do more competitions than giving a few pennies.

All the survey companies have cut back huge recently.

Don't sign up with Ciao, they're rubbish.

Ive not had any spam that I can think of, but this year there has hardly been any surveys either so I havnt gotten many points.

Lightspeed is a good one to start with, you can get paid out via PayPal or vouchers for various shops.

Getting a bar job or something would be a better alternative in my opinion. Even just randomly clicking the buttons on the surveys (did them when I was 13/14 for extra pocket money) it could take quite a while to get through them and you'd get about 5P for it.

Another job is not an option- I have to be able to travel abroad at short notice with my current job, otherwise I would.

Not quite, I work at a company that makes machines for research into metal properties- We have to do installation, servicing and upgrades. Not really as interesting as being a spy if I'm honest.

As a student, yes, and I got many a free meal out of them.

I've used a couple but Pureprofile is the only one that's ever let me get to the point where I can take money out. Their withdrawal point is £25 but depending on who you are and how you answer you can earn 10p > £3.00 (maybe more) per survey.

I set up a dedicated email address to register with them because I was dubious about spam but (touch wood) they haven't inflicted me with any that I've noticed.

I did a "secret shopper" type thing for a site that gave feedback to bars, restaurants, cafes etc once too but they didn't generate much stuff - I only got one visit with a free meal and drinks, the others offered were miles away and sounded a bit grim. It was a good concept though, companies approached them and asked for someone to be sent to them and then the feedback was passed back to the business. I can't remember what the heck they were called now, it's been that long since I had any contact.

Pinecone are the beat I've found paying 4 quid per survey direct to your paypal, each survey is about 20 minutes and I probably get 2 a week on average as well as new products to try.

Joining the website is a pain as you've got to find a banner or be referred when they're recruiting, which I don't think they are at the mo.

I've tried loads of them and it's only lightspeed and pinecone that I bother with now
