Mate of mine if flying upto Edinburgh tomorrow from Birmingham for his sins.

He has his tickets, NO passport and only the plastic card part of his driving license.

Will that be enough ID to get onto the flight? I think not.

Internal flight photo card of license and other wallet type id, i.e. bank card should be enough, but check the airlines website as Ryan Air or similar may decided they are better off bumping the passenger and reselling the seat wink

Shouldn't be a problem.

That'll be fine, I often use my driving licence photocard on domestic flights.

Well he left ours at 5am this morning and I haven't heard from him so looks like it was enough.

Cheers all.

I flew from LHR to EDI once last year without being asked for ID at all. Check-in, security, boarding - nobody asked.

You can fly in between any of the Nordic countries with any ID as long as it has a photo or your social security number on.

Some bright sparks have made their own club with their own membership cards up here. The cards they use to fly with belong to the 'Club For Finding Shapes Of Animals In Street Maps'.

I fly to Edinburgh about once a week and haven't been asked for ID at T5 for about the last 3 months...

Even more scarey. So much for security & anti terrorism etc.
