De Tomaso Longchamp at Ascot auction
Discussion
I believe I heard it close around £6K Robert but believe me when I tell you it would of needed more than TLC to bring the old girl up to par.
Serious front end tin worm in all the expensive areas.
I'm glad I did not have a second form of ID on me to allow me to register - I really don't need another car to restore.
The TVR is my rolling restoration while I save up for a proper acid dipping resto on the DT.
The former West Sussex owner of the yellow Guara was there and we chatted for a while. He also came to lok over the Longchamp:
I'm sure you saw it: http://www.pistonheads.com/sales/1260244.htm
Looks better in the photo's.

Apparently it was bid to £7700 but was unsold, as you mentioned it’s was more likely sniff you in the crutch and rut your leg than provide wafting Italian 2+2 comfort.Serious front end tin worm in all the expensive areas.

What about the ‘Versace’ Deauville then? It isn’t, its been painted in what appears to be BMW Estoril blue with a 9” brush and would not be satisfied with a simple old sniff of the crutch and a go at your leg, its an absolute hound of a car!
None the less has an interesting history and really did ought to go and experience it for yourself, drop me a pm if your curiosity gets the better of you.

6K for a car like that . . . a bargain!
Not after you have spent north of £50k to bring it back to life, with no factory and parts availability getting very tricky at times and it’s anything but a bargain if you’re referring to the Coys GTSE. In all likelihood it may well make a handy parts car, as Transmitter Man will testify even the lights are worth a bundle, shame though really. The Deauville restoration is now heading towards six figures...................................
It was Gianni Versace’s don’t you know, the same Gianni Versace who in conjunction with his brother owns one of the most successful advertising agencies in the world and is now married to Nigella.

If that is the one I think it is.... that is an absolute wreck and was on ebay... They said it was all nice and done by the person who owned it then and they thought it was ok.... someone looked at it and then said it was shocking and was a near deathtrap.
