Busted the steering lock on my 92 Griff at the weekend. The metal stalk that goes from the end of steering lock to turn the ignition switch just snapped off.
Am I right in saying its a vauxhall part? Has anyone changed one before? I need a new steering lock and the ignition switch too (the switch is a bit knackered where I had to shove a screwdriver in to get it started). Do the two parts come separately? I remember changing a steering lock on my old MG Midget and it meant the whole steering column had to come out and the thing had to be drilled out. Will it be similar procedure with the Griff? Also, when removing the cowl over the steering column I damaged the wiper delay switch. Is this a vauxhall part too? It looks like one. Anyone got a part number for any of these bits?
Thanks in advance for any help .

After being inundated with replies on here (
) I called a dealer who confirmed it is a Vauxhall part. Apparently the steering rack can remain in place but the shear bolts on the steering lock just have to be drilled out. As its a quick job I'm going to get Peninsula to do it while my car is there on Friday.
My car is going in again as since I had the 54000 mile service it seems to be misfiring at around 4000+ revs in 5th (equates to about 115-120mph or so) As I only drive at these speeds on track it took a while to notice. The car keeps pulling up and is reluctant to go any faster. It never had any problems before reaching 140mph+. Feels like a fueling problem. AQctually, I just thought, they dont have a rolling road at Peninsula do they? How the hell are they going to test it?
