Pls reccomend a main dealer for service (London -ish)

I've recently acquired a 2001 530i. The car is a one owner low miler and has full BMW SH up to now. Given its condition and background I am very inclined to stick with the BMW SH. Problem is, you mostly only hear horror stories about the main dealers being rip off, useless, etc.

Can anyone reccommend a main dealer where the service dept actually know what they are doing, care about the customer and won't try to rip me off asking to change £3k worth of parts plus labour? In London or within a 40mi radius, preferably North or West (not South as its a pain to get to from where I am).

Am I asking for the moon?

Or am I best off taking it to any of the many good specialists around? (if so, any reccommendations)

I work at a main dealer based in NW London (Park Royal) so I'm bound to say use us!! Your car falls into our 4 plus menu pricing but we also offer the latest value line servicing which starts at just over £100 for oil services (which include changing micro filters!!). If we report any other work found it will be priced to sell. I also supply a few good indies nearby with genuine parts who could work on your car if you wanted to go that route.

Thanks for the reply. The simple fact that someone that works at a main dealer is on PH already goes a long way towards helping me decide, plus, Park Royal is not far at all from Camden (IIRC).

What department are you in though? Parts I assume...

Yes I'm in the dusty cupboard!!

I can get short notice appointments for service for PH'ers and also discounts on parts and services.

It would be good to get a few of you guys thru the place to hopefully give us some decent feedback!!

We had a breakfast run here for our Lambo customers on Sunday and got a very good attendance. It's worth checking the thread out to see the pics on there of the various Lambos on the day and the Veyrons we had in the workshop!!
