How many of these companies have set up in the last 6 months!? There must be about 5 or 6 different ads running on daytime TV! Even saw an online pawn shop ad just now borro.com or something!

I remember hearing on the radio a tv or radio show was to conducting an investigation into these.

I believe they are undervaluing by a huge margin.

I notice a lot of these places take dental gold.

Wasn't that what the Nazis did?!

Because gold is on its way up. Predictions it will double in value over the next year, so they buy now and sell then...

Not if they are saying £100 worth of gold is worth £10, they can sell straight away.

Just saw that one...

In the 'small print' at the bottom of the screen, the small matter of 85% APR!!

I appreciate that there are much higher figures around for short-term pay day loans, but that is still ludicrous.
Like someone would be pawning their (as per the TV advert) Rolex for £1300 anyway?! hehe

In this new transparent and open world perhaps they should try:
www.webuygoldandgiveyousodall.com

Perhaps Mr. Brown should have used them as I suspect he would have got a better deal.

ETA: ^^^^^^Aggh. Beaten to it.

I reckon Gordon Brown could be the MD. It's the only way he can get our reserves back.

I saw a pay-day loan TV ad this week for 2,300% APR.

And this is allowed to be broadcast on the tv.

I know idiots are idiots, but surely this cannot be allowed in a decent society?

These insured envelopes - how does that work when I claim to have sent it, and they don't receive it?

Or when I claim its got 5 gold chains in it, and they claim when it arrived that it only had 4?

Am I missing a fail-safe designed-in somewhere?

But at least its put a stop to the "Injury Lawyers" and "Ocean Finance" type ads.

But as we near Christmas, we'll soon be getting the dreaded ads for Xmas jingles, tinsel, out-of-date-before-Xmas mince pie offers,

Bah Humbug!
