VXR8 Window Tints

Has anybody had their windows tinted on their VXR8?

Benn offered it by one of the best known providers for £325+vat which seems reasonable.....

Anybody got any pictures showing their car with tints and what shade you went for etc?

Got some Pix of my Ro that i can put on later if that’s any use? Don’t forget (which im sure the fitter will mention) that the front doors must let in at least 70% light, also take this into account if there is any existing tint in the glass or your could exceed the legal limit.

P.S. don’t take any notice if somebody says its totally illegal to tint the front door windows, see link below;

Had all rears done with 35% tint for £200+vat. Autoroofs in Leicester.

Mine are tinted, as it came with I can't comment on price but here is a piccy.

I had them done in Norwich, the guy has done 4 of my cars over the last few years... He is good, hence going back with various cars... The Ro cost me £250 (a family saloon around the £300 mark). It takes him about 6 - 7 hours if all windows are done (obviously not the windscreen before somebody jumps in here) and its all done with the glass in situ but certain bits of trim have to come off i.e. door panels... I stayed last time as I didn't have anything else to do while it was being done so watched how it was done... To get the window shape the film is applied on the outside 1st to get the shape then taken off and fitted to the inside using a water based solution and heat gun... Its a time consuming jobby but done with little effort in taking the car to bits

Thanks for this thread, it's given me a rough idea of price. I need to get both offside windows re-done as the rear quarter is damaged and the front has smears between window and tint film.

I've been recommended somewhere in Sittingbourne by the lads that did my bluetooth fitting, but would welcome any recommendations in the south east if anyone knows someone?

Hi Tempy.... I live maidstone area, had my Landcruiser done 4 years ago localy in Maidtoned, he done a good job, unsre if to back or not, he did take out windows.

Yours does look great rockland, I would consider traveling to a good tinter if price was right.
