So, yesterday, I popped over the road to my local Sainsbury's Local to pick up "a few bits". Milk, bread, bit of fresh fruit and some bin-bags.

Whilst walking around the store, I suddenly remember that I'm running low on toilet roll. They have 4 rolls of Anrex on offer at £1.83, so I grab a pack. Now I'm feeling smug; Knowing I was running low I pre-empted a lack of bog roll. I averted a zero bum-wad situation. For a man living on his own, without a female to remind him of this stuff, this was a sort of victory.

I strutted out of the shop with my head held high, proud of the fact that I'd actually thought something through and planned for the future.

I got home, emptied my bags and took the toilet roll into the bathroom.

I then placed it next to the 4 rolls of bargain-price Andrex that I'd bought from the same Sainsbury's the day before.

Is short-term memory loss the first sign?
