TVR T350T tyres

Hi all

I need a new set of tyres for the car (all around) and I'd love your help!

Information on prices, fitting, options, etc all very welcome as this is the first time I will be buying tyres for the car!

Any secret sources who offer the best value tyres out there please? What should I be paying? I really can't tell a good deal from a bad one at the moment.

From a chat, it would appear that the Goodyear Eagles are the ones to have.

Local friendly fitter £20
Done 3k on them so far and very happy with them.
Most popular tyres seem to be F1 or Toyo i went on price at the time but i don't regret buying them at all.

Falkens are getting a very good name for themselves at the moment. When I had an M3 CSL alot of ownersw started using these as they were half the price of the recommended tyre and no one had a bad word to say about them.

I curretly have F1's but would consider Falkens next.

I used Falken 452s on my old Chim and loved them. I'll be changing to them when my F1s wear down as well, the Eagle asymetrics are also getting a good name for themselves but are a lot more expensive!

I've got Pirelli PZeros on the Tamora which I'm very happy with. Its an unusual choice due to force of circumstance! Otherwise would have gone with the new F1s.

I rate Wembley Tyres (I think you are in N London). Give them a call in advance and they will get in pretty much anything you want within a day or two. They have so far been really competitive as to rates.

It depends partly on how you want to use the car and whether you want the ultimate tyre (and to pay the ultimate price).

Tyres like PZero and Michelin Pilot Sport will probably give the ultimate grip for road tyres on the track/dry blasts across country, but I believe they are softer = wear out much more quickly. I don't think you can get Toyo R888s and more which are more track biased. Dunlop SP Sport Maxx seem to get good reviews too.

The usual TVR tyres are Toyos or Goodyears - both are good (I had Toyos on my Chimaera). Toyos are a bit cheaper. Another choice I considered was Continental Sport Contact 3 - which

I went for Goodyears because while I'm sure Falkens are good and Toyos are great, the likes of Goodyear and Continental always do best in magazine tyre tests. I am not going to skimp on the only link between me and the road.

What is the exact size I am looking for?

Pity that winter is coming eh? Roads are definitely feeling slippy, had a "moment" recently on my Kawasaki. Though, I must confess to enjoying pulling away at lights knowing my steering wheel is nice and straight!

225/35x18 front & 235/40x18 rears.

Does anyone run wider than 235's on the rear?

I assume 245/40/18 or 255/35/18 would be ok wouldn't they?

On my old BM I upped the 245's on my 19's to 255's and then 265's and they looked awesome whilst providing lots more grip.

I have 255's on the rear, i only get slight rubbing when cornering hard with a bit of weight in the car. They are fine for normal road use depending on suspension set up.

It seems anything wider than standard will foul wheelarches under enthusiastic driving or heavy load situations. I've gone back to 235s.

Vredestein Ultrac Sessantas are getting some good press as well. I've just put some on my Tuscan and they feel better than the F1s they replaced, with better grip. Camskill are doing decent prices on them.

Apologies I didn't realise there isn't a 225/35 sessanta available.

That's ok was my first choice untill I looked into the sizes.
But as said more than happy with my current tyres.
