There would be jealous bitter f
kers on every street corner ready to scratch or vandalise anything decent and the US car industry would have collapsed (much more than it has now) 10 years ago.
Technicians, mechanics and workshop floor guys (who would call themselves engineers) would be sleeping and drinking during shifts and/or taking 3 hours lunch breaks so nothing would really ever get done.
Wouldn't be any trailer parks because the great unwashed would receive council housing and free health care and would have no worries.
