TV at Oulton...or pulled again?

As the title.

In common with many others who were at Anglesey, I was a bit peed after making the effort only to be told the Telly wouldn't be there because of the low turn-out - smack in the puss for new sponsors on the back of TV coverage.

As Oulton also looks like being a low grid (as it seems now) will the same logic apply?

i heard it was because it was too far to travel.
but as you say not good to promise coverage and then not turn up,
does make life difficult when talking to sponsors.

I suspect it depends on if the fun cup is being recorded, and if so by the same crew.... If they are there doing that then i expect they will cover us as well.. Sadly it all comes down to money at the end of the day... Even the tv we get is very expensive, and the series sponsors have to pay for it.. if there are a couple of series all having it recoreded it brings the cost down... I think the ford boys normally have it recorded as well so may be there is a chance..



I have to chuckle on the grid numbers though... a couple of years ago we were ecstatic if we got to double figures... now we are pished if less than 18-20 the worst we ever had was i think 6 at knockhill. wonderful circuit mind well worth a visit and possible only 4 finishers in one race !!!

If thats the case then that is a double disappointment because AMG are based in Marple, only 5 miles from me. It only took me 21/2 hours to get to Anglesey towing the race car. It takes less than 2 hours by car.

Anyway, I thought the telly deal was all sorted before the start of the season. Shirly all the prices would have been agreed then?

It'll be a proper pisser if Oulton isn't televised especially as I have told all my clients and suppliers to look out for the programs in November.

Oulton will be televised. Anglesey wasnt. because i was running out of dosh and the turnout was looking low a few weeks before..

nothing to do with the distance, or AMG.

Seems fair enough to me Owen.. and a low turnout does look crap on TV and doesnt do anyone any favours.. The TV that has been on so far has been good and light years better than last time.. Just a pity Coombe wiped out so many cars...
