I've just eaten a Greggs triple chocolate muffin - it was good.

However, the way/order I ate it was to have eaten the bottom soft bit first (around the liquidy bit in the middle) then the bits of the top without the chocolate chunks, then breaking of the bit of the top with the most chunks for last, then the rest of the top, the bit with the liquidy bit finished by the bit that I removed for last.

Ok, slightly OCD, but I realise (I've always known this) that I save the best bits for last - my lunch was 2x Greggs steak bakes and for each one, I saved as much of the middle bit as I could without wearing it.

Is it just me?

yes

I eat around the edge of a Jaffa Cakes, leaving the disc of orange jelly stuff on a disc of sponge, the latter is then carefully prised off leaving the best bit till last, the tangy orange jelly!

Yep I do this - I save the nicest looking chip on my plate or the nicest bite of chicken/steak. I don't really notice I do it.

Oh they do - my lunch is often 2 pies and a sausage roll and I'll save the better bits for last....

Now the pub up the road is another matter - my favorite meal isn't referred to as a "dirt burger" for nothing....

Two Greggs's steak bakes and a muffin for lunch?

Think of your health man!

Resists temptation to post something about one day needing an ambiwlans...

I often have the steak-bakes with a sausage roll as a side order - with the muffin. This is about 2-3 times a week.

Strangely enough, I've lost about a stone in the past 8 months.

Saying that, knowing what I know about my family's heart problem history I reckon I'm living on borrowed time anyway...

ETA - I'm having chest pains..... I really am......

yes, this can be very irritating. I love to share food, but people need to ask before the half way mark wink

Yes I have a little food-related OCD. The crispest chip, the crisp with the most flavouring, the tail-end of the fish, the bit of meat with the tastiest crust from the pan.

It's all about enjoying your food. Talking of which, we are in Whitby for a few days and are booked in at The Magpie Cafe for dinner!

Can't wait!

I eat almost all my food like this.

Greens, then potatoes, finished off with the meat.
Yoghurt: leave all the fruit or choccy bit til the end.

Funny that children always eat their favourite bit first and adults sometimes eat the best bits last. Have to confess when I eat a Magnum I always eat the chocolate first as I like the icecream on it's own, and a bag of pork scratchings I always leave the biggest to last.

Andy

Not so! Both junior (male) had hams save 'the best' until last. Junior female had ham is free of such OCDism.

However, I must admit if I am lucky enough to find one of those Mr Porkys with a bit of meat attached lick it's the last one to go.. maybe it's my fault then!

Edited to add that it's quality (meat attached) rather than quantity (size) every time!

And who as a child infuriated their parents by eating a biscuit vertically, grinding it away like a mutant gerbil, instead of horizontally?

Yorkshire puddings to be consumed last.
Entirely dependent on whether they're (a) crunchy and (b) gravy-free.

I shall demonstrate via pseudocode.

LET a = Yorkies_Are_Crunchy
LET b = Yorkies_Are_Gravy-Free

IF a AND NOT b THEN eat_them_last_with_mustard

IF b AND NOT a THEN eat_them_first_but_dunk_them_in_gravy

IF a AND b THEN put_jam_on_yorkies_and_dont_knock_it_til_youve_tried_it
