After a bit of advice if anyone has had a similar experience.
I put my husband's watch into a Jewellers for a new battery, they had the watch 3 weeks and charged £30. He was wearing it whilst on holiday and the face steamed up.
Took it back to the jewellers and complained that this shouldn't have happened, they took it back in and another 3 weeks later I got a phonecall to say it was ready. My daughter picked it up for me as we were away again, and it has come back with a letter stating they were unable to obtain a seal (I presume from the first time it was in.)and therefore the watch is now not water resistant and should not be worn near water in any form.
The letter also says that if I want the watch to be water resistant then it should be returned to the maufacturers.
The last time they changed the battery, I did get a piece of paper with all the readings from the pressure test, but not this time, I only realised this when it steamed up.
I will be going to speak to the manager over the weekend, but not sure where I stand.
Has the watch been damaged by getting wet in any way?
Anyone know what my legal rights are?
