just a quickie really.

it's been thrown around and I wondered, would a 944 turbo face lift ruin a my LUX - value wise? or is it frowned upon if it ever went up for sale.

Just wonsdering because of the initial cost to do this.

All thoughts welcome, even if it's a slap upside my head for such contemplation :-)

There are lots of kits around and some look really nice, personally i reckon with the low values of 944 lux's why not, lets face it even if you do loose some it wont be much

Well a Lux is not much money anyway - adding the turbo/S2 panels shouldn't make much difference to the value. Some people might want a Lux because of the lower insurance premium, but prefer the later, more modern styling - they might even pay a little more for it.

One thing for sure is you wont increase it's value by much

I agree that the "value" of the Lux is in the eye of the beholder (meaning: the owner), and not all that much on the open market. Therefore, don't plan on an investment or payback, just plan on having fun and enjoying the car. The "turbo" front end is really nice, but rather expensive once you get all the lights, etc., installed. Either way, it's a great piece of equipment.

Just checking your profile coupascoopa, are you from the future?
Will the M25 be widened, have Mercedes launched their much acclaimed SUOPASPFMMLE (Sports-Utility-Orange-Producing-All-Solar-Paper-Folding-Mystic-Meg-Life-Enhancing) car and will women have beards?

LMAO - detomaso u tart!!!
I changed it now, think ur soooo special. Is ur flat tidy yet?

Does everybody know how u once owned a lime green Lada that u bought off ur mom for ur first car and reversed it into a bus stop on your first day!!!

well they do now and u can't deny it.

PS thanks for all the replies guy - i was pointed int the direct of stuttgart.co.uk and their 944 front, which is quite tempting.

so i guess another question would be - is £750 a good quote for a professional full leather interior refurb?

anybody got any recommended people i should visit before making up my mind?

Check out www.transcal.co.uk , they do nice factory looking retrims and other special one off stuff.
Also check out www.car-interior.co.uk, good quality but not eye opening.

www.design911.co.uk has got loads of parts for your Lux, reasonably priced too, they sell second-hand interiors, could be cheaper than a full retrim

My mum was broken when I crashed that car, you could go faster in reverse but I didn't think to look backwards.

The facelift of the lux will need new wings as well. This might get very expensive. However the Turbo/S2 front is more aerodynamic and will icrease top speed and fuel consumption.

I wonder how many miles you would need to drive before the fuel savings pay for the work!

With the way coupascoupa drives, I think very little, he spends more time going sideways than straightahead, attatching the nose to the door would have greater affect
