I don't think that is too bad a result. Consider he is being compared to established single seater racers, he is within 3%. Closer than Badoer was on his return to F1. Could Lewis Hamilton get within 3% of Seb Leob on a World Rally stage. Probably not.

I'm a big Hamilton fan but no i don't think he would get that close on a WRC stage - i would of thought it was easier going from WRC to F1 than F1 to WRC.

The square root of bugger all as best I can tell. Think he did some F1 testing (but can't remember when) and he may have driven the Pug 908 Le Mans car this season in one of their test sessions, but beyond that, he's not been in a single seater for a while as best I can remember.

He's had two goes in an F1 car and thats it as far as I know. He has done some LMP racing though so its not such a massive leap.

He's hardly set the world alight during his (admittedly limited) LMS program with ORECA either. Bit disappointed as he seemed pretty quick in GP2 and his performances at Oulton Park in F3 were spell-binding as a spectator; I was expecting big things.

He's hardly set the world alight during his (admittedly limited) LMS program with ORECA either. Bit disappointed as he seemed pretty quick in GP2 and his performances at Oulton Park in F3 were spell-binding as a spectator; I was expecting big things.

I don't like the guy, so I hope he never gets a drive in F1.

hmmm...going from a car where you have someone telling you which way to turn, to one where you are doing upto 200mph and pulling several g's is easier...not so sure!

undoubted skill to both, but the fitness and mental ability to cope with the scenery flying past at 3 times the speed required in f1 is, for me, massively complex

big respect to loeb for his time

He was spectacular trying to drive on the ceiling of the bridge at Snett too.

Not a bad time considering:
1. It's his first outing in a GP2 car.
2. He's driving in DPR, which is not a competitive team by any stretch of imagination.
3. His team mate and veteran GP2 racer, Michael Herck was only 17th, just 0.8s faster than him.
