black primer on plastic !

hi folks,
it seems like the standard primer is delivering quite poor results on the perspex. I already noticed at Stoneleigh that most of the perspex
headlights were suffering from that and I decided to go a different route for the headlight fixing. However still have
to glue the side windows to the support brackets.
So I took a regular window primer for glass and it did not work at all. The adhesion was very poor. So I removed all of this (yes messy)
and called the primer manufacturer. Some techie told me that the glass primers do not really work on plastic and also advised to sand it with 300-400
grain to get more surface where the primer can attach to.
I have ordered now CARLOFON MULTI PRIMER specially made for plastic and have sanded all the surfaces that will get treated.
Hopefully have this next week and will then report back about the results. The glass primer seems to work ok on the GRP btw.
