Ok guys this calls for a bit of imagination here. You are Slavica Ecclestone and you have just divorced Bernie, therefore you now have about £1 billion burning a hole in you pocket and no longer have access to Bernie's jet.

Do you do as Slavica has done and splash out on a new Gulfstream G550 at a mere $60million or spend your cash elsewhere

I always fancied going down the converted Airliner route. For a bit more space. Possibly a hot tub and a large bed area.... wink

I'm thinking that may be a tad impractical for international jetsetting... biggrin

i'd go the classic route like travolta did with his quantas 707. i think BOAC colours:

an interior like this:

and a couple of appropiately attired hostesses biggrin

all in all, a perfect incentive to play the lottery this week!

1. Obtain 747-400
2. Convert to luxury live-in interior and drive-in garage.
3. Buy house at Greystone Aiport
4. Annoy John Travolta.

If it floats, flies or F***'s..............

surely for 60m you can rent a lot - a lot of times?
i reckon my set-up would be loads less than £60m - whats a 707 cost these days? rent what you like but be prepared to be outclassed by my boac chick magnet!

Pretty much along the same lines but I would get the G650 although a A319CJ would be tempting.

Boeing do a business jet version of 737, loads more space inside than a standard busjet.

Mind you it must be possible to get something like an L39 Albatross or similar fastjet trainer for private use.

Then again how about going the classic route with something like a Catalina cloud9 Plane and yacht in one.

By the way, you would be hard pushed to get hold of an ex BOAC Boeing 707-436. There are none left - apart from one in the US and it's on static display somewhere. They were powered by Rolls Royce Conways which meant that they were withdrawn from service by the few airlines that used them over 25 years ago.
Youl'd have much better luck with a Pratt and Whitney powered version - which BOAC also used -

you're lucky you got capitals on BOAC Eric! smile [and one for you too]

engine choice wouldn't bother me. in a fantasy world i'd have fleet including a vc10, a comet and a bristol brabazon. that last one would be a challenge for sure wink

There's a Brabazon wheel in the Science Museum. That'd be a start.

$60m seems cheap for annoying John Travolta.

How much to recommission a Concorde and drive him apoplectic??

The G650 is is going to cost you a lot more than $60 million, but it would be cool and you could fly almost anywhere a near supersonic speeds at over 50,000 feet without refueling cloud9
