351C with 408 stroker kit + CHI 3V heads.

I need to know the required pushrod length?

Block is standard deck height. Is there anything else that would possibly change pushrod length?

Thanks.

Loads, too much for anyone to answer with the info here. Would need block deck height, head deck height, head gasket thickness, rocker arm design/ratio, cam base size, lifter designpushrod seat height, valve stem length, too much for us to give a correct figure. Read something like this and go from there

hi Phil

i'm more interested in what size runners did you choose 225's? who makes your stroker kit (scat im guessing) and did you buy here or import the stroker kit? Are you using the 3v inlet manifold? and the next question is have you got it running yet biggrin

lots of questions i know, i wished i bought my heads when the exchange rate was alot better :S

All measurements finally done and have decided to order Crane moly pushrods through Real Steel at I believe £113.00. It really is not worthwhile getting them in from Summit what with shipping etc.

I have to get a carb and have been advised to look at the (http://www.quickfueltechnology.com/home_2.htm) 950HP from Quick Fuel Technology.

Re the intake & heads; Scott at CHI makes the intake to look just like the Ford intake but it has ports that match his heads, not the Ford heads. It had one bad port that did poorly on the flow bench. I asked to have it welded up but the Tig torch was too large to fit in the port for welding.

Instead, they epoxied the port. I believe they used a pair of set crews to make sure the epoxy stays in place for the long term. This work was carried out at a friends shop in the US. (I had CHI in Aus ship bare heads to the US to be built and used as part of a Cleveland dyno shootout programme being run by Dan Jones).

Stroker kit from one of Dans local suppliers: http://www.adperformance.com

Specific head was ordered after taking everything into consideration including use of vehicle, spec of vehicle, stick/auto trans, rest of engine spec including cam etc etc.

I decided of the CHI DP intake due to it being better on mpg and lower profile - I have limited hood clearance!

Some links to Dans work with a 351ci dyno test mule with my heads & intake. Remember I'll have 408 cubes and a slightly higher comp ratio that this test mule. I wanted my heads & intake back before Dan gets around to substituting his 351 mule for one or more strokers:

My man Paul in West Drayton is currently flaffing around with the timing chain. One or two mods to make.

An interesting and costly excercise but nearing the final furlong.
