Cars passed MOT today but garage reports that the dampers are leaking and need replacing in next few months. Haven't felt any difference in handling but have been quoted £540 for pair of rears plus fitting.

Firstly is this reasonable and is it worth considering an upgrade on the standard dampers at this stage?

Advice appreciated.

I would get a set of Nitrons

because if your rears have gone the front will soon follow suit

and to spend all that money on standard parts would not be wise imho.

Just as an alternative, speak to Matt at Jetstream as he can get the Bilsteins refurbished for £70 a corner...... and that by Bilstein themselves! wink

They rip you off every time and always ask for more then the quote.

as you can see you can get it done for £70 a shock.

The head Noble eng works for Jetstream so I would send them there.
They also look after the M400 Race car which Plans used to do, but you will have to ask why others have stopped using Plans.

I can only go by being ripped off the 1 time I delt with them, but after asking others they were also asked for more money than the quote, other wise they will not release the car.

My Geo and corner weight also sucked and they spent about 30mins on the whole geo and only ajusting 1 shock for the corner weights, insted off all 4 for a better balance.

Centre gravity spent over 4 hours doing my other car right.

Hi I have two Rears as spares, as I up-rated to M400. Would be open to a realistic offer, if it would help you?.
