So .... I order a new CV joint that I need to fit to car PRIOR to MOT on Monday, even get it sent to me recorded ... this was on Monday btw.

It's coming from London, where the fking wkers have been on fking on and off strikes all bloody week.
To make things fking worse the fkers at the local sorting office are on fking strike from today as well.

So I have no CV joint to fit to car tomorrow/Sunday, meaning no way can I MOT car on Monday...

WHY THE fk ARE THE fkING POSTAL WORKERS SUCH UTTER INBRED fkING CRETINS WITH BRAINS THE SIZE OF A fkING PEANUT, EGOS THE SIZE OF THE HIMALAYAS AND THE fkING INTELLECTUAL ABILITY OF A fkING DODO BIRD.
Utter fking s, I hope the lot of them get AIDS and die a painful, miserable death ... alone in a ditch; and then get some dog pissing on their corpse and vultures feasting on their eyes.

I swear I will go and firebomb their sorting office tomorrow and punch my postie in the face whenever I next see him (which is another bloody story as he fking delivers mail at 4pm).

UTTER fkING CRETINS!

You'll never get your CV joint then though!

The missus ordered something the other day, it was to big to fit through the letter box so the postie left a card advising her to collect from the local sorting office. She called up to collect it but it was "in the office" but the office was locked so she couldn't get it. The desk jockey told her to call back the next day after 12 to collect it.
Back she went the next day, just after 12, to be told that the previous bloke was wrong and she couldn't collect it until after 1 and to phone before calling in.
So, just after 1 she called to be told that they couldn't find the parcel and to call back the next day.
Next day she phoned again, they knew nothing about the parcel, and told her it was probably held up in the postal strike in london, seeing as the postie had tried to deliver it and we're nowhere near london my wife called bullst and asked them to sort their act out and give her the package. They refused and told her to call back the next day.
She phoned back again and blew a fuse to the phone monkey, phone monkey said he had to check with his supervisor but there wasn't one on duty so she has to phone back again tomorrow, she asked if she'd be able to talk to the supervisor but apparently they don't talk to customers!!

Yup, the House of Lords accepted some really poorly thought out 'reform' with some grace rather than force a Custer's Last Stand situation. The CWU would rather drag the entire Royal Mail down with them.

ETA- it'll be the miners all over again.

If the joint on the car fails before I can replace (and I need car) I will :/
Don't really care about running around with no MOT for a week personally

Except no MOT means your insurance is not valid. Which means if you get spotted by ANPR your car could be seized and crushed, and quite right too

Postal workers the cause of the demise of the Royal Mail

This £1400-2000 they are losing is that off the basic or off the bonuses.

If the basic I have sympathy, if off bonus then roll on the next set of incompetent paper carriers.

Why didn't you order it sooner? Or asked the sender to use UPS or FedEx instead. You know your MOT expiry date and the strike was well publicised. No excuse IMO. I usually get my MOT done just under a month before the expiry date in case anything comes up. Or if not, I get the dealer to do the MOT and service at the same time. Either way I know that the car will not be without an MOT and insurance.

Uninsured drivers don't get much sympathy on this forum, and rightly so. Get the bus for a week, or a taxi, or hire or borrow a car.
