Hi,

Can anyone recommend a good web host?

I am currently using rackspace but at $195 per month its a bit over budget and I can't really justify that cost for what it does.

It needs to be a redhat box with about 30GB traffic allowance pm. Also around 20GB of HD space.

Ted I know you use carrenza? How do they shape up?

Thanks,
Deester

I was previously with Rackspace in the UK (more expensive than the US). Superb service but the upgrade path for me was going to work out particularly expensive and with fewer options than purchasing my own kit.

Carrenza is run by Dans - have a chat to him. He'll give you a quick run down of costs for what you require. It worked out as a similar price to hosting with Rackspace for me in the short term but has saved me money in the long term.

Have a word with Patrick Weightman (better known on PH as dontlift).

You'll find a link to his business at the bottom of the 'inside' pages on the anti-scamera petition website www.saferroads.co.uk

Try these guys. I've been using them for years. They are a highly technical firm and every member of staff really knows their stuff. I've even had the MD call me at 11pm on my mobile to help solve a problem. Absolutely fantastic service. A lot cheaper than what you're paying too.
