That's what the early ones started off with...and probably more accurate than the usual TVR figures. wink

If it was a bit cheaper, might think about putting something a bit more exciting under the bonnet. smile

A V8 3.5 is only rated at 150 BHP is it not?

Maybe you're thinking of the earliest twin SU carbed RV8s, as in the seventies Rover P5 and P6. They were supposed to be (a measly)155bhp.

Early Rangies had about 130bhp.

The TVR RV8s were sourced from the later Rover SD1 Vitesse, which had 190bhp standard, and up to 197bhp I believe in the 'standard' TVR 350i. smile

Eta..all flywheel figures of course.

My 400SE put out 195 at the wheels, 250lbs torque.

Where the hell did I get 150 bhp from then nuts !!!

I always thought my car went better than it should despite 'only' having 150 BHP paperbag

Keep meaning to get it dyno'd smile

rare?

first of all:

the seller does regulary sell different kind of kitcars, lotus or tvr´s ...so he is a kind of "private" dealer...not paying any tax for his sales!!

the car is silver...the enignebay is black...wonder why!!

the original and rare mirrors are missing.

early car with complete black wiring loom!!! not the best if searching an electrical problem.

shroud around viscous fan is missing. (no overheating problems? sure?)

noise absorbing foam with TVR-logo inside bonnet missing.

wrong alloys, as the early cars should have the teledyne wheels. this car has the later multi-spoke alloys.

"the chassis is mint and heavily painted and oiled"
this statement does cancel each other out.

anyway--paintwork looks nice on the pictures...

but as usual: no underneath pictures. also no informative pictures at all.

1300pound and thats it!!! ok..as the exchange rate for the pound is down: 1500,-pound.

That's more work than it took you to put it the way it is.

IOW, it's easier to break Humpty Dumpty with ONE MAN than it'll be for all the King's horses and men to put it back together again.

You wanted a racer and you've got one. Go with the flow dude.

That was said tounge in cheek, as I spend over 12k on the racer, so they would have to go up a lot to revert it back to standard.

The early Tasmin didn't have a shroud around the fan. See Graham Robson's book 'The TVRs Vol 2'; there are plenty of pics in there to prove.

The early cars didn't have any lining to the bonnet.

The early cars had Telcast wheels, not Teledyne. But at least the wheels are 'in the spirit' of the car as they could have been fitted by the owner when they first appeared on the 350i.
Edit: those look like they might actually be SD1 wheels, can't be certain but they look subtly different from the wheels on my car.

That's some mark up, this was on eBay in August starting at £1999 but had no bids.

I emailed the seller at the time asking how much he'd take and he said he'd take offers around £2k ....

Same pictures as the original advert unless it's the same person ?
