How long does your battery charge last, unassisted?

Fitted the second new battery to my Griff and have left the car for not quite 2 weeks. Ignition on primes the fuel pump, but not enough power to turn the engine over.

Have I got a drain on the system, or is this normal? It was OK after 1 week but not 2!

Had my Griff 10 years, from new (always garaged and it will flatten a battery in 2 x weeks, only way is to get an Accumate/Optimate (£35 off eBay) and keep it plugged in via the cigarette lighter. Unfortunately once flattened a modern battery rarely recovers to it's former charge.

Just went to start mine today as I've not driven it for a month or so. Slightly slow to catch, but ran fine. Longest has been about 2 months.

I,ve had 4 Chimaeras,bought an Accumate and never fitted it to any of them,my cars have sat for weeks in the garage without a problem with the battery.

Bloody strange isn't it? My garage is even warm'ish because it's integral to the house but flatten they do!

About 10 days but fitted a battery switch and it started after leaving for 6 months.

3 weeks tops with the Cat 1 switched on before going flat(tried this once only) i dont allow this to happen though Optimate for me left over from my superbike days

Ten days was pretty normal for my Chim(p), dropping to less than a week as the battery got older. OH got quite good at breaking in.

Depending on your circumstances, either an Accumate or a big 'Off' switch will help.

The Meta alarm/imobilisers seem to take a fair amount of current, about two weeks to flatten my battery.

I fitted a charging socket in the engine bay that also isolates the battery and the car can now stand all winter without a charge. No alarm activated though! So no good for a lock up!

I have the original alarm/immobiliser fitted, so that's obviously what's drawing the current. Accumate on the way then...
