6th Gear Experience
Discussion
Yep, I realise its not a track day as such but as the founder of VMAX I realised I hadn't done a day where I got to drive for a long time....
Today I went to Chobham and experienced the "6th Gear" driving experience.
It's been a few years since I did the supercar days at snetterton with the 355, Esprit Turbo, 993 & viper so I was on heat to see what the day was all about.
And boy what an experience it is!
Now, VMAX is pretty humbling as far as exotica goes but my god this was impressive.
As we pulled up we saw a line up that was like an EVO photoshoot..
Off the top of my head.
Aston DBS
Aston DB9
Aston Vantage
Lamborghini LP650
Lamborghini Murcielago
Lamborghini Gallardo
Lamborghini Gallardo spider
Ferrari 599
Ferrari 360 Challenge Stradale
Ferrari 360 spider
Audi R8
2x Arial Atom (sic?)
BMW M3 CSL
Subaru Impreza
Does it get any better?
The day was slick, professional, the marshalls and instructors pushed you fully to you limits but all in the realms of safety and the course was incredible.
I can't enthuse enough about how fantastic it was. If you're looking for a fun day out then it lives up to the max!
I'll be going again!

I'm quite surprised they run this sort of experience at Longcross. Presumably you drive around the test track there?
They claim to allow customers to "push the cars to their limits", which is a bit dodgy on that track IMO.
How many people were there today to drive all those cars you listed?

I'm not sure how many people were there. 80 maybe?
As for pushing the cars to the limits then I would say yes, to an extent, but its as much a case of, pushing the cars within the drivers own limits really. The instructors were very aware of the surroundings and they had coned certain areas to slow things down a little but at no point did the circuit feel compromised.

Resurrecting a bit of an old post but I am looking at purchasing smething similar as a gift. How 'fast' can you actually go in say an AMV8? I was thinking initially of Thruxton which I know but Longross, despite being local is new to me. I have an impression of it being more suited to time trialling and smaller more nimble cars.
