Should be a tiny bit rapid. smile

How many wheels do the bike engine variants drive? Must admit I don't know a huge ammount about the Rush, but wasn't it originally a 4WD design? Also some very clever front suspension - camber compensation if I remember rightly?

Hi mate, welcome across!

Shame about yesterday we had a good run down to RR through the twisties, even if it was a bit greasy!

Most are 2WD and conventional wishbone front suspension, though Ilyama's has the patented, optional camber compensation and anti-roll system, by the look of it.

It started off as the Pinto/Cosworth engined, live Cortina axle Mohr Rush, by Jurgen Mohr, incedentally (the man who's now building the 'official' AC 'Cobra' (except that while its offically an AC, its not offically a Cobra - its the AC Mk. VI), before Dax bought the project. It's come a long way since then, though!

Whatever... very nice car, Illyama! How do you find the feel of the front suspension? I'm intrigued by the CCAR system, but some people who've driven it report that it feels a little bit odd and 'disconnected' until you are mentally attuned to it?

Hi guys, (and Dave!!! biggrin), thanks for the welcome!

Safe to say it is a bit quick, power to weight is just over 400bhp/tonne. I built it as light as I could hence all the carbon that you can see and the titanium that you cant!

I cant really comment on the CC&AR because I havent driven a 'standard' Rush. However I can say that it grips like the proverbial with turn in being very rapid, sorta point and shoot!

Would've been nice to make the run yesterday but one small component let me down and that was that. Quick fix though, (3/4 hour), and she's back and terrorising the roads around the Southampton area.

Need to kill some of the induction noise so I can get it on track.

Gratuituos carbon shot:-

Hi mate, I see you've made it over from WSCC and Locostbuilders. The car looks fab.

Interesting fuel set-up too. Looks like you have a fuel pump up front, so have you gone for a swirl pot and extra pump too?

Excellent news on the leccy front bud! Glad you got it all sorted. Gis a shout when your ready re. carbon and the size required.

Hi Laurence. No swirl pot, 12mm hose from tank to pre-filter to pump to post filter to fuel rail. Early shot here:-

The tank is baffled though so maybe this is why a swirl isnt required?

Looks very nice. I'm Frosty on WSCC and LocostBuilders by the way. I'm sure we've been involved on the same threads before.

Dunno dude, SVA weigh in is not accurate. He weighed the front axle, then the rear. Adding the two figures together wont give me an accurate all up weight, especially considering the tester was sat in the car!! banghead

Havent had a chance to get it on a weighbridge but a guestimate will be its in a similar area to your ex, maybe a little heavier due to dry sumping setup.

How ya doin anyway mucka? Long time no speak!
