"The Thick of It" - back soon

Hmmm... How many rants can Peter Capaldi do before we get bored of them? However well written and performed they are. Seems as though Tucker is really the central character now, where before he'd seemed to be the hand grenade dropped in from time to time. Was there any story/plot? Have to hope it's just a scene setting first episode. Or maybe real life politicians so absurd, that they are difficult to make it more absurd.

For me, as many as they can write. Such carefully crafted pockets of vitriol - as funny as 'non-pc'.Edited by Northern Munkee on Saturday 24th October 22:55

This just gets better and better. It would have been easy for the producers to quietly drop the idea, but shifting the focus towards Tucker has created one of the great comedic monsters.
Also contrast Peter Capaldi's portrayal in this with that in the last run of Torchwood. The guy is a genius.
