looks like it's a write off.

Currently got the car at my digs at uni, but need to get 2 assesments on costs for insurance, can anyone help? frown

Someone jammed on their brakes after hitting a badger, car behind stood on the brakes, but i couldn't stop in time, cue me hitting the Skoda and turns out it was an off duty copper too

He was more pissed off with the dope in front than me.

It's an easy fix but it will be a write off. But you could buy it back off the insurance??

You could always buy it back and fix it or put all your shiny bits into a new shell.

How much would a bonnet ,wing , front bumper and headlight cluster + various other bits and bobs cost then painted at a reasonable standard workshop?
That is a write-off methinks.
Shame.

People would rather cause a 5 car pileup with fatalities than hit something furry rolleyeswink

Anything's fixable - for enough money. If the rest of the cars's good and you fancy a project, give it a go - what is it, new bonnet, 2 wings and a slam panel? Or are the wings salvageable?

One wing's bent back against the door, looked underneath but the rails seem to be straight still
Might need jigging. The slam panel's gone, rad's been pushed back into the fan and might be holed (was only a year old too! brand new last year!)

There's a lot of good bits on that car, (LSD, sport suspension, polybushes, E36 Rack conversion Z3 shifter) so it'd make a good project or parts for someone elses car

Just don't have time or money now to fix it, on my final year of university frowncry

Full history (think a folder's full and the service book as well of recepts and stamps)
She was well looked after frown

Have you declared the mods to the insurance? (From your profile)

I am not taking the piss or trying to be funny. If they send someone out to see the car and find all the "mods" and you haven't told them, then things could turn sour.

Best of luck and sorry it has happened, be glad you are safe and well.

Hope you get to buy it back and get it back on the road if it comes to it.

to be fair, a decent sized badger can do a reasonable amount of damage and is worth avoiding

Won't be claiming for them, just the value of the car, nothing specific

well it could well be to the rest of the BMW driving fraternity that driving too close to someone will result in you hitting them up the chuff. And it'll be YOUR fault. So yeah. It is helpful.
You're going to fit in well around here.

O/P - do you have anywhere to store it? Sounds like a good project. Don't let it go to a scrapper, it looks too good. What engine?
