Sunday dawned wet... it was forecast dry - duh... not a good start 
Cover had blown off the car in the barn and it was covered in Chicken shat Grrr.... :strangle-chicken-smilie: A quick wipe down and away to the NETVRCC meet, via fuel station and a winding route of 45 miles. I was caught by a bunch of Evo's out on a hoon but I overtook a muggle and they couldnt get past so I left them behind 
The sun was out by the time I got to the meet and I was first there, cars started arriving and tyres kicked for an hour or so, but no other S's
Ian (pringli) turned up in his Griff for a while, but I was bored (and a bit envious of the Tamora owners...) so I decided to checkout a route I had described to Longers on a pm earlier in the week... it was only 65 miles to the Border and the sun was well out now...
I had forgotten how good the A696 is on a quiet sunday afternoon, hardly any cars about roof down and dry sweeping fast bends. Stopped at the Border(Carter Bar) for a bacon buttie and cuppa and shared "Cold" stories with a couple of Jock-Bikers before pressing on to thumbs up from them for my exhaust note...
Down to Chesters and then turn off onto the Kielder Road which NEVER disappoints. I didnt catch another car for about 30 miles (and I was motoring)then for some reason a gaggle of four police cars heading north past the reservoir ??? what the... ?
Got home at 3.30'ish and just sat in the barn for five minutes or so listening to the Tiv ticking as she cooled... she always seems to run better when the weather is cold, and before I'm about to take her apart and I wonder about sleeping dogs and all that...
Anyway Ian, the route is still spot on, the only rough patches of road have yellow marks on them so they will be repaired before you get to them... I'll keep checking the route out for you... (its tough but somebody has to do it)

I can't promise to help with your fuel costs though getting agreement from SWMBO would be a bigger issue than the cost of the fuel though... I was up in the Durness area in August and was wishing then that I was in the Tiv as the roads are so good and quiet (I was in the 4x4)
